Dear Prime Minister John Key,

Kia Ora and greetings. My name is Mitchell. I am an Year 6 student currently attending Pt England School in Auckland. I would like to discuss a complaint I have to make. The problem is that people around New Zealand have been dumping rubbish in our sea, and in our oceans. It causes pollution and spreads across the country. We need to do something about it.

I think you should stop people from chucking rubbish in the sewer and the sea as a law. Not just that but I think you should start up some competitions. Every month or week you should start a competition named “Go away it’s not rubbish day” where everyone collects up rubbish and whoever collects the most rubbish wins a mega prize. You should also get every rubbish that goes down a toilet to get burnt and crushed.

Why? Because it can cause more and more pollution around NZ. The whole population might as well become sick. Then New Zealand would end up smelling like a trash dump because of the pollution. Some rubbish will end up in the sea and kill our sea animals and ruin our kai moana.

Your’s Sincerely,

Mitchell M
